Minikane Doll Size Guide: 27cm vs 34cm and Which One to Choose

If you've been eyeing Minikane dolls, you've probably noticed the numbers: 27cm, 34cm, 13 inches. They matter more than you'd think — each size belongs to a different doll family, with its own clothes, shoes, and ideal age. Here's the full breakdown of the Minikane sizes we carry, so you can choose with confidence.

Minikane doll sizes at a glance

Doll family Size Body Age
Mini Panchas 27cm (10.6") Vinyl, articulated 10 months and up
Gordis 34cm (13.4") Vinyl, hard body 3 years and up
Babies 28cm (11") Soft body Check product page

Shopping in inches? Our 13" dolls, like Zoe and Chloe, are Gordis dolls — 34cm is about 13.4 inches.

Our collection FAQ also mentions 37cm Gordis dolls — they share the same Gordis clothing line as the 34cm dolls.

Mini Panchas — 27cm (10.6")

Mini Panchas are the smallest dolls in the Minikane family, and the newest arrivals at our store. At 27cm tall, they're made of soft-touch vinyl with articulated limbs, and each one has a gender-neutral design with big hand-painted eyes. Retailers list them for ages 10 months and up, which makes them a lovely first doll for toddlers — light enough for little arms, sturdy enough for daily adventures.

We currently carry 17 Mini Panchas styles, including Arsène in his green dinosaur jumpsuit. Each doll comes with its own outfit, and there's a dedicated line of 27cm Mini Panchas clothing and accessory sets — from rain sets with tiny umbrellas to bath sets with striped slippers. One handy detail from our product FAQ: Mini Panchas can wear all Gordis doll shoes and slippers, so footwear is interchangeable even though the clothing is not.

Gordis — 34cm (13.4")

Gordis is the classic Minikane doll most collectors know. At 34cm tall with a hard vinyl body, these dolls are made in Spain by Paola Reina, hand-painted, and carry Minikane's signature light vanilla scent. Most have fixed-open eyes, while sleeping-eye versions like Capucine close their eyes when laid down. The dolls are anatomically correct, and they're listed for ages 3 and up.

Gordis dolls are sold unclothed — the outfits are a separate world of their own, which is exactly the point. Dressing and redressing builds little fingers' fine motor skills, and our shelves hold around 40 Gordis clothing and accessory pieces, from linen rompers to ballet slippers. If you're starting out, Louise is a wonderful first Gordis: she fits every piece in the Minikane Gordis clothing, shoe, and accessory line, so anything you add later will fit her.

Babies — 28cm (11")

Alongside the two vinyl families, we carry Minikane Babies such as Teo: 28cm baby dolls made of phthalate-free vinyl with a soft, poseable body. These are the cuddle-first dolls — softer to hold, simpler to love, and a sweet pick when the doll's main job is bedtime company rather than dress-up play. Teo even arrives in his own gingham moses basket.

Which clothes and shoes fit which doll?

This is where most confusion happens, so here are the rules straight from our product pages:

  • Mini Panchas (27cm) wear Mini Panchas 27cm clothing and accessory sets. Their shoes and slippers are fully interchangeable with Gordis doll shoes and slippers.
  • Gordis (34cm) wear the entire Minikane Gordis clothing, shoe, and accessory line — including the 37cm Gordis range mentioned in our collection FAQ.
  • Babies (28cm) wear Minikane Babies 28cm clothing. Gordis outfits are cut for a larger doll, so the two lines don't swap.

When in doubt, each product page's FAQ names exactly which dolls an item fits.

How to choose: three quick questions

How old is the child?

Under 3, go with Mini Panchas (listed 10 months+). For ages 3 and up, Gordis opens up the full dress-up world.

What kind of play?

Constant cuddling and carrying → Babies 28cm or Mini Panchas. Dressing, styling, and imaginative outfits → Gordis 34cm, with its 40-piece wardrobe.

Is it a gift?

For a first doll, Mini Panchas hits the sweet spot of size, sturdiness, and price. For a child who already loves dolls, a Gordis plus one outfit from the clothing line makes a gift that keeps giving.

Frequently asked questions

Can Mini Panchas and Gordis share clothes?

No — the clothing lines are sized separately (27cm vs 34cm). Shoes and slippers are the exception: Mini Panchas fit all Gordis doll shoes and slippers.

What age is a Minikane doll for?

Mini Panchas are listed for 10 months and up; Gordis dolls for 3 years and up. Always check the specific product page.

Do Minikane dolls' eyes close?

Most Gordis dolls have fixed-open eyes. Sleeping-eye versions, like Capucine, close their eyes when laid down.

Are Minikane dolls safe and well made?

Gordis dolls are made in Spain by Paola Reina from phthalate-free vinyl and carry the CE mark under EU legislation.
